Do you think Haley should have been expelled?
Yes, absolutely, she should have been expelled.
Fist of all, she plagiarized it before and had been suspended for a day. But, she did once again. In that time, school already warned her and suspended. Haley should been reflect on her act. But, she did it intentionally because of laziness. This is not a fault. She must response to her acting.
Second, she is not freshmen or sophomores. It means she is not young student anymore who does not know anything. Indeed, she already got warning from school. But, she plagiarized one more time. Of course, this is against school’s law and academic integrity. Her mother says this punishment is too harsh for her daughter and also, everyone plagiarizes and copy. But, this is all her fault and she has nothing to say about it even though she was expelled from school. School already gave her chance but she did not follow the rule. Obviously, this is the lack of morality.
Thus, she should have been expelled.

Absolutely, I agree with your opinion. You mention two reasons which Haley should be expelled. Haley committed plagiarism repeatedly even though she worried about her act which her parents disappoint. Therefore, plagiarizing throughout websites about academic paper is not an accident but intentional happening.
Also, she is not young anymore because she is third year student in high school. And I think she knows well academic rules and disciplines. Even if her parent insist unfair treatment, school official punish severely after sending out a warning. Hence, I think that school punishment took a proper penalty.
