For his assignment, Mr. Kim cut and pasted directly some sentences in the paper despite the mention of the instructor, “Use your own word.” Actually, his action was wrong, and he seemed to definitely commit plagiarism. It seems that it was a right decision for the instructor to give him a low grade. However, like Marita’s case, Mr. Kim also seemed to commit plagiarism because of his deficient knowledge of plagiarism. Therefore, I think the instructor might give him a chance to rewrite and reevaluate the paper. If he gets the chance, Mr. Kim should try to find sources from internet and then use his own word and quotation in the paper. Also, it might help him rewrite it to find the instruction and go to the writing center of school.
